How to create a site map for submission to Google

How to create a site map for submission to Google

The hardest part by far for submitting a sitemap to Google is the creation of the XML file that fits Protocol 0.9. This is made much easier if there is a sample sitemap to refer to.

My latest article is all about exactly how to submit a sitemap with a sample sitemap to make life easier. I have added a few instructions on how to go about making the submission so you are pretty much there.

Go take a look and see how easy it can be.

SEO Search Engine Optimisation according to Google

SEO Search Engine Optimisation according to Google

SEO has long been considered a black art, but when you read the information that is available from the likes of Google and Yahoo, they actually take quite a bit of trouble to try and tell you what you need to do in order to meet their requirements.

Of course they don’t make any guarantees, but then how could they. At the end of the day someone has to to get top spot in a search result and if there are ten million results then clearly they need to be differentiated in terms of relevance to the enquiry and quality of the information.

I can imagine that with ten million results the differences between say number 1 and number 100,000 for example will probably be very subtle with very little to choose between them, certainly from an algorithms viewpoint.

A human perspective may be different, but we don’t analyse ten million results in under a second do we? But that is what the algorithm has to do, choose and do it very quickly so we are, I am afraid, at its mercy and unfortunately mathematical algorithms don’t tend to be very compassionate.

Still if we follow the guidelines then we can help ourselves a little and that is why I have posted a summary of Google’s guidelines on my latest post of a ‘Good Time is Blog Time’.

I think it’s an interesting read and I have provided my interpretations of what they say, so go have a look and find out what Google’s take is on things.

RedGage a new initiative for earning on line

RedGage is a new way to earn money on line that is so simple to use and is completely free.

All you need to do is sign up and then you can upload any web based content, blogs, photographs, documents or links to your websites.

Once that is done all you really need to do is advertise the fact that your information is there and you will get paid for people visiting your information in RedGage on a per view basis. Anything you do that gets featured can attract further income in the way of bonuses.

Ways to get traffic to your RedGage postings:

  • Update your profile with a photograph and tell people all about yourself to make it easier to connect and make friends
  • Invite your friends from Facebook, email or any of the social bookmarking sites
  • Add comments to other people’s posts and rate their stuff, they will hopefully reciprocate
  • Import your blogs and other links e.g. from Blogger or Facebook to automate updates and add further information
  • Twitter your posts using the share button on RedGage

The sooner you start the sooner you will begin to earn money from the site, I can’t fault it. There is plenty of help and advice available to tell you what to do and how to do it, just type in ‘by rghelp’ into the search box to find all the information you need.

Click on RedGage to go to the site and have a look around, type in ‘by BrianRS’ in the search box to see my postings and if you like what you see then just click on the ‘Sign Up’ option top right of the site to get started.

Do me a favour as well please put in the referred by box ‘BrianRS’ without the commas, this will let RedGage know you were referred by me and it will automatically add me as your first friend on Redgage.

Free Blogger Templates

I came across this website in BlogCatalog when I was making a new friend there, just loved the layout and scheme for the blog she had and thought I wonder where that template came from.

This is her website The Choosy Epicurean which has, I think, a great layout.

Well I had a look at the bottom and found the culprit Final Sense which is a website giving away free blogger templates.

I have to admit that I think anyone who is producing a lot of websites should buy their own domain names and benefit ultimately from all the hard work they put into getting links and traffic.

Normally I would recommend WordPress for this because it is a very flexible package and I still stand by that, all my new blogs are done in WordPress and there are plenty of great templates available for that platform as well.

But you can use blogger for your own domain name as well, so with a template as good as this, if you really like blogger, then I think it has to be a viable option, certainly impressed me enough to share it with you all, although I think there are still a few limitations you would need to accept.

So if you are an ardent blogger fan, go have a look but seriously consider buying your own domain names and hosting package. If at the end of the day all you do is sell it on then you be able to make a profit from it, so at least all the work will have provided you with something.
